How others see this region, I cannot
understand To me this little country is
menaced motherland with flames around, the world
of my childhood swaying far, and I am grown from
this land a tender branches are from trees. And
may my body sink in this soil in the end. By
Radnóti Miklós
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Never Shoa again!
Time would make us forget the lines by Radnóti
and passing years could make us forget the
memory of the fateless unless we commemorated
them.
The word (?????, hásoá) originally meant
disaster, peril in Hebrew. Nowadays we mostly
use it as a synonym to Jewish Holocaust.
2
The Jewish Holocaust During World War II, as
estimates, 4-6 million Jewish perished in the
Holocaust. People, considered suitable for
work, were taken to labour camps, the rest were
killed in gas chambers immediately. In the
wooded land near Auschwitz they were made to get
undressed and they were told that they were
going to have a shower. When there was noone
left alive, the corps were taken to a mass grave
or crematory by Sonderkommando.
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Simply incredible that it could have happened!
3
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
What happened then?
And when it was impossible for the death
machine to operate any longer as the allied
troops had arrived to liberate

4
C O M M E M O R A T I O N

General Dwight D. Eisenhower was right to order
to take photos and make flms of everything that
could be seen.

years ago
6
C O M M E M O R A T I O N

It is necessary that we be suggestive of the
words of the genaral of the allied forces,
Dwight D. Eisenhower. When seeing the victims
of the consentration camps, he ordered his
soldiers to take as many photos as possible and
to show them to the local German population so
that they could see the facts and come and bury
the dead.
7
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Giving the reason for filming, he said,
We need as many documents as possible,
should it be either a film or a deposition - ,
comes the day when some insane will turn up and
claim all that never happened.
8
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil
is for good men to do nothing (Edmund Burke)
9
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Recently some teachers in UK have been afraid of
teaching about the Holocaust as it is offensive
against their Muslim students who do not believe
it ever happened!
10
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Is this fear justifiable? The World War II was 65
years ago!
It is a terrifying prophecy about the terror,
gripping the world, which might be felt by any
nation.
11
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Let this multimedia message bring victims to the
mind of the world beside the 6 million Jewish,
20 million Russians, 10 million Christians,
homosexuals, Gypsies and some others who were
killed, massacred, raped and humiliated while
Germany and Russia were looking somewhere
else.
12
C O M M E M O R A T I O N
Never Shoa again!
These days, when Iran, similarly to some other
countries, states that the Holocaust is not
anything but merely a fairy- tale, it is more and
more urgent that we warn the world not to
forget.
13
The personage of Radnóti Miklós seems symbolic
As a Jewish poet, forced to the death march,
gives an authentic account on the pointless
genocide. As the poet wrote in his
pocket-book in Bór, he wished himself for more
meaningful and finer death. He was not
destinated to! He perished like many fellows
of his in the forced marsh on September 15,
1944.

6million
victims
Make us commemorate even after 65 years!
Peace in Rest!
Todays generation should not forget!
15
If we become grateful by commemorating, we can
really appreciate the life that was taken from
others undeserving. Thats why this remembrance
is a warning against the Holocaust denials as
well to keep the memento of the Holocaust!
Since the towns and cities where the victims
were deported from, were rooted in
Jewish-Christian culture, after 65 years it is
shameful that in a town like this there is no
Holocaust Monument! If you consider remembrance
important against the Holocaust denials,
draw the attention of your aquintances to it
and be loyal and support the projects of the
Foundation Never Shoa Again!.

for remembrance
So that we will never forget what happened to
our Jewish fellow countrymen who perished during
the Holocaust. Lets commemorate the martyrs
who could not come back to their homes so that
no form of racial hatred could strike root in
the heart of the coming generation.

I. Publishing
In the autumn of 2008 the book Bonyhad A
Destroyed Community by Leslie Blau (Blau László
Bonyhád, egy elpusztított közösség) will be
published, which presents us the history of
Bonyhad Jewry.

II. Erecting a Monument
Bonyhad Jewry used to make nearly 20 p.c. of
the population of the town. We consider a
Monument very important, to be erected in a
nice place of Bonyhád, to memory of the
destroyed community. According to our project
the Monument will be unveiled on the anniversary
day of the Holocaust, on April 16, 2009.

III. Memorial Exhibition
We have decided to organize a memorial
exhibition for the 65th anniversary of the
Holocaust, which will be set in the Culture
House and people will be able to see it as a
travelling exhibition in the villages and towns
of Völgység area. The exhibition will embrace
both the events of the Holocaust in Europe and
the history and the tragic fate of the local
Jewish community. The Holocaust Memorial Centre
in Budapest and Völgység Museum will give us
assistance of great value in the organization of
the exhibition.

IV. Come and see education
We intend to help students of 12-19 in Bonyhád
and in Völgység villages get to know the facts
of the Holocaust. We plan to offer interactive
presentations, films and competitions in history
to students in close co-operation with schools,
involved in the project.

The intention of the founders

We want as many people and organizations as we
can to get involved in the projects and support
of the Foundation in order that they could
express their loyalty and sympathy to the
victims on the occasion of 65th anniversary and
their disagreement with the anti-Semitic and
racist ideas and organizations that have revived
recently as these ideas led to the terror of the
Holocaust.
