ROBERTS In selecting Dr. Roberts for this Special
Award, the Board recognizes his tireless efforts
over the past two decades to make ITER a reality.
The Board also recognizes his early efforts to
promote the construction of the first U.S. D-T
burning tokamak, that led ultimately to the
construction of TFTR and his continuing devotion
to international collaborations and to the
technology and facilities needed to make fusion
power a reality
