Title: Ninth District Elementary School 1
1A year ago, in a school not so far away
It was a time that every senior was required to
take on a service role in an across the
Tri-state area. 5 special young seniors of The
Summit Country Day School made it their
responsibility To show at the Ninth District
weekly to help tutor and even file With Corrie
Kief working in the gym she spent her time
playing with the kids, giving them a reason to
smile, not an easy job, but She did it
anyway Meredith Schiff and Tobi Adams donated
their time in helping the Children through hands
on work very important jobs. And then there was
Marisa and Andrew who alternated filing And
helping the Fourth Grade class Later only
filing, but their Jobs would be worth more than
money for all the work they did For the
Secretaries This is the story of the Ninth
District, a Public school in Covington Kentucky
eww Kentucky but we went anyway and due to The
five of these heroes the dreaded Darth Vader was
destroyed wait wrong film These 5 heroes
gave up a few hours of their time to
volunteer For this organization one
organization that would be thankful For Years
To Come This is our story
2Ninth District Elementary SchoolCovington, KY
- Welcome to our experience
- As told by Andrew Davis, Marisa Bowersox, Corrie
Kief, Meredith Schiff, and Toby Adams
3First Day on the Job
- On the first day, we were all introduced to the
site manager, Kim Foster. She then told us where
we were going to work, and how long we were
expected to work for. She welcomed all of us to
her school, and made us feel as if we were part
of the Ninth District family.
4What We Do
- All of our experiences at Ninth District are
different. Some played games, some read books,
and others helped with administrative work. In
the beginning of the year, most of us felt
under-appreciated, but as the year progressed,
the teachers began to appreciate our work.
5In the OfficeWhere We Work and Dont Play
- As most of you already know, Andrew and I
(Marisa), worked in the office for the majority
of the time. Of course we complained about it,
but really, we enjoyed what we did. Although we
could not really tell if the administrative
assistants benefited from our help, we always
worked hard. Marisa and I (Andrew) never stopped
putting in 110 of a filing effort, and as a
result, I know my alphabet better than ever.
6Who is Vaughn?
- Vaughn was Marisa and my (Andrews) best friend
during the first semester or so of this project.
We would switch off every so often between filing
and going to baby sit Vaughn. Vaughn was part of
the Third/Fourth grade combined. He had probably
one of the worst cases of A.D.D. Andrew and I
(Marisa) have ever seen. Before you could even
fully introduce yourself his attention would be
gone and you would have a better time talking to
a wall than trying to talk to this kid. The hour
that we would spend there each week would consist
of saying hi to him and trying to do about 5
multiple choice questions that we would go over
with him. Really our job was just to keep him
busy, but whatever helps out the faculty was our
job.

7Comb-over and Mullet Superhero or Super villain?
- About week four, Mrs. B (the previous teacher)
mysteriously disappeared, never to be seen again
maybe she couldnt take Vaughn anymore but the
world will never know. When we came into the
classroom we were Greeted (quotes symbolize
heavy sarcasm) by a man with both a comb-over and
a mullet. When we would ask where he wanted us,
he would give us the index finger, symbolizing he
would be with us in a moment but that moment
never came after 45 minutes of being shoved into
a corner by this nice man we decided to file
for the rest of the year.

8What we learned in the Office
- That we are truly fortunate.
In some schools kids arent encouraged to consult
the dictionary
We have an obligation to help others (especially
those less fortunate)
That the Drive to Northern Kentucky sucks.
