Title: Project Offset

1
Project Offset
  • A whole different approach to opening a whole new
    style of gamming

2
Over all features
  • Instead of a 16 v 16 normal FPS multiplayer game.
It now becomes a MMORPG (like WoW) FPS
  • Key factors of this new change are. . .
  • Ranking up to 100 (like leveling)
  • A vast environment (think FarCry 2 times 10) and
    a lot of dungeons
  • Guilds
  • Karma
  • Stats
  • Professions
  • Create your own castle / city / armor / weapon /
    home
  • Create a unique but similar combat system to Dark
Messiah, make it feel as if you were there
    slashing at the enemy

3
Ranking
  • As a player you will Rank up and as you rank up
you unlock new types of weapons and armor as well
    as gear
  • Ranking is effected by karma
  • A higher ranking player is usually a guilds King
(so a rank 100 Orc Black Terror, is probably a
    Evil Orc guilds king )
  • Ranking also effects your guild

4
Guilds
  • Lets Break this down into several sections
  • First, Guilds are NOT effected by race, There can
be a pure Orc guild and a Pure Human guild. There
can be a Orc, Human, Elf guild too.
  • Second, although the guild is not effected by
race, all members of one guild (this is where you
need to find similar members for the charter)
need to be on the same karma side. You cant have
    a un-holy/holy guild, Either or.
  • Third, A guild can have treaties, truces, allies,
and a lot more other things I cant think of right
now with other guilds of the same KARMA base.
Which means on a scale from 100 to -100 if you
have a guild that is -25 you can ally with a
guild that is 10 but you CANT ally with a guild
    that is 100.
  • A guild can indeed build its own castle, Where
ever it pleases and elect their own king. A Guild
can also build siege camps, raid camps, travel
camps, towns, and sanctuaries (churches, or
    altars)
  • All cities and what not will fill with npcs of
that guilds type (so a orc / human evil guild,
their town would fill with orcs and humans that
    are evil)
  • A General of the guild (or the guild former) is
the only player whom may choose where the castle
    goes.
  • Any thing build by the guilds general (once
placed) is not instantly built, in fact it
doesnt even seem as if it placed. Where the
general points and says to build is where the
castle will be built, quests givers of thats
guilds make up will ride up next to the king
player and provide all players of the guild and
undguilded players quests to help build the
    desired structure. I estimate about 20 60
players will pick up these quests and begin to
work, The quests will go something on the line of
you need to bring 5000 stone blocks to this
location, and that wont be just YOU it will be as
in Your guild and non guildies. Once all the
materials are brought to the location ( after
being refined at a setup quarry and lumber yard
and what not ) than all players will get a large
boost of gold and exp, but thats not all. After
this quest is complete another quest will pop up
requiring you ( as in your guild and non guildies
) need to construct the castle, a NPC will be
summoned ( via coming from far away on a mount )
to the location to point out where everything
goes. Once the whol castle is completed, the
castle will be vacant for some days. It will
slowly start to be occupied as you either A.
Build villages or B. Enslave villages.
  • A guild can also place a relic ( aka shrine ) in
their keep that can give all players in and out
of the castle benefits. Relics are claimed
through either A. Dungeons B. Buying them threw
a church or altar C. Stealing them from another
    guild.
  • INCOME! Guilds Income effect how fancy the
castles and town halls would look, as well as
what the kink can get his knights and his army.

5
Guild Ranks
  • Kings Political leader, The only leader that
can buy banners, buy Armor that would be buyable
to the whole army, as well as weapons, and can
talk to other kings about treaties and what not.
  • Knights Close generals of the king, controls a
    lot of underlings and can

6
Structures
  • Castles
  • Castles are the focal point of the guilds
military and the place where the King player
    usually stays.
  • The king player can venture out and fight, but
has political duties to uphold in the keep
    itself.
  • Castles also serve as fortresses for near by
towns that are under siege from another guild
  • Castles ( once in the guild that owns it ) also
serve as a new starting place for players whom
which to start a new character of the same karma
    as that guild.
  • Has very little quests for beginners, a lot of
quests for players R60 and above.
  • Has a large income boost
  • Towns
  • Focal point of merchants and crafts ( this is
where you learn any and all professions )
  • Has inns for players that are not allowed yet
into the castle (R30 below) and stables for pets
    / mounts
  • Has a lot of quests for beginners and not so much
quests for players R55 and above
  • Has a medium income boost
  • Camps
  • Three types of Camps which each serve a purpose.
  • A Normal camp Used as a place of rest and also
( if the quest says so ) a place to turn in
    quests via a messenger bird
  • B Raider camp Used as a place of rest and
readiness for a raid on a church, town, castle,
or another camp (good for using when going into a
    large scale battle)
  • C Siege Camp The only camp where you can not
rest in, Is used specifically for constructing
siege weapons. Siege weapons will require
resources, so make sure to bring them along with
    you.
  • Churches / Altars
  • Used as a place of rebirth if one dies out in the
    environment

7
Karma
  • Karma is effected by what you do threw out the
    game
  • If you do good things in quests like helping an
old man out of a well, than you get good (holy)
    karma
  • If you kill the old man instead you get evil
    (demonic) karma
  • Now there arent two factions (good and evil)
factions are based on guilds and the mock up of
    people in each guild
  • Karma also effects what you can wear (a Dark Orc
Pounder cant wear a Holy Orcs helmet for he is
to evil to touch the item)

8
Stats
  • Stats effect everything, just like karma does.
Instead of affecting what you can wear and what
guild you join though, stats effect what you can
wear, what spells you can use, how fast you are,
how muscular or fat you look, how tall or large
    you are.
  • As you grow in rank the system will look at your
stats and determine a class name for you, thus
    your making your own class.
  • Example, lets say there's a new orc. Standard
    stats of a R1 would be, 10 Strength 5 Agility 1
Intellect 13 Stamina. Thats a pretty standard
build for an orc. Lets say this orc grows to rank
50 and all he's ever spent when he ranked up on
was strength and stamina, which means he's been
getting stronger and taller. Instead of an Orc
Pounder or Orc Smasher the system would transfer
the characters class and race name to Ogre, for
he is becoming a giant siege weapon basically (
dont believe that he cant do anything else
though, cause although he's kind of slow he can
still do dungeons and what not, just like a
    normal player.)

9
Professions
  • Professions arent set as in Theres only 6
professions. There will be hundreds of
professions, but you are still limited to how
many you can get, because each profession will
    take time to master.
  • At the start of a profession you will need to
look for a master of that profession ( at the
start will be a NPC at the NPC castle, but as you
progress there might be an NPC in your guilds
town or castle that is a master because of one of
the guildies is a master ) you will than become
an apprentice of the master and will be given
quests to do certain things like
  • A lumber man apprentice would go out and cut down
one tree and bring it back to the master, it
would of course have a time limit.
