• An opening in the earth often raised, through
  lava and gases from the earths interior escape.
• A place where you could find a volcano is Mt. St.
  Helens in Washington State.

• A bowl shaped area of land surrounded by higher
  land.
• A place where you can find a basin is in the
  Franconia Notch of New Hampshire

• A deep valley with steep walls on both sides that
  was formed by running water.
• A place where you can find a canyon is The Grand
  Canyon in Arizona.

• A dry area where few plants grow.
• A place in the U.S.A. where you can find this
  landform is in New Mexico.
