  children. Koko the gorilla is often as human in

• Dr. Francine Patterson has spent many years
  studying the behavior of gorillas. Her work with
  Koko is famous throughout the world, and her
  research has appeared in many scientific
  journals. Kokos ability to learn and use sign
  language has been a major breakthrough in the
  field of animal communication.
