Flexible Response to the Armys Needs
An Army at War After extended deployments, Army
units redeploy to their home bases in large
groups of Soldiers Many Soldiers have
purchased new motorcycles while in combat
theater, others, cant wait to get their bike
back on the road The problem 30-90-180 days
after return from theater is the high-risk period
for severe accidents The need concentrated
training resources dedicated to rapidly training
and reintegrating these at-risk Soldiers

Another Tool for Army Leaders
  • Motorcycle Refresher Training (MRT)
  • Motorcycle accident rates highest within 0-90
    days of redeployment
  • To mitigate that risk, CFPS and the Army
developed a two-hour Plan of Instruction designed
    to
  • Assess riding skills of returning Soldiers from
    combat deployments
  • Refresh critical motorcycle riding skills
  • Re-acquaint Soldiers to motorcycles (if not
    using SRT assets)
  • Can also be used for general refresher
    training
  • Soldiers identified as at-risk are redirected
    to additional training

12
Military SportBike Riders Course(MSRC)
  • MSF-designed, eight-hour block of higher-level
  • instruction specifically targeting Military
  • SportBike Riders Riders must be BRC complete
  • MSRC is a MSF-certification course requires
standard range with minor modifications and two
    RiderCoaches to conduct the course
  • 55 MSRC-certified Trainers in place at most Army
installations in the US (Mobile Training Teams
    available for other locations) trainer
    certification continues through summer 09
