3Starting Position Prone Shoulder Abduction
4PRONE HORIZONTAL ABDUCTION AT 90
The starting position is to have the athlete lie
prone on the table with a weight on the injured
arm that is hanging straight to the floor. The
hand should be rotated outward as far as possible
with the thumb pointing up, and the arm at 90
degrees of abduction. The arm is then raised
out to the side parallel to the floor, and slowly
returned to the starting position.
5Starting Position Prone Horizontal
Abduction at 100 degrees
6PRONE HORIZONTAL ABDUCTION AT 100
The starting position is the have the athlete li
e prone on the table with a weight on the injured
arm that is hanging straight to the floor. The
hand should be rotated outward as far as possible
with the thumb pointing up and the arm at 100
degrees of abduction. The arm is then raised out
to the side parallel to the floor, and slowly
returned to the starting position.
7Starting Position Prone Shoulder Extension wit
h arm in full external rotation
8PRONE SHOULDER EXTENSION WITH ARM IN FULL
EXTERNAL ROTATION The starting position is the
have the athlete lie prone on the table with a
weight on the injured arm hanging straight to the
floor. The arm is then lifted straight back
while the hand is still rotated outward
throughout the full range of motion, then slowly
returned to the starting position.
9Starting Position 90-90 External Rotation
1090 - 90 EXTERNAL ROTATION The starting posit
ion is to have the athlete lie prone on the table
with a weight on the injured arm. The shoulder
is abducted at 90 and is supported by the table
with the elbow bent at 90 . The arm is then
externally rotated while the elbow and shoulder
stays in that fixed position, and is then slowly
returned to the starting position.
11Starting Position Side Lying External Rotation
12SIDE LYING EXTERNAL ROTATION The starting posit
ion is the have the athlete lie on the uninvolved
side with the involved arm internally rotated
toward the chest with the elbow flexed at 90 .
With the arm in this fixed position the arm is
externally rotated, and then slowly returned to
the starting position.
13Starting Position Prone Shoulder Flexion
14PRONE SHOULDER FLEXION The starting position is
the have the athlete on hands and knees with a
weight on the injured arm. The back is then
hollowed and the arm is lifted up and forward.
Then slowly returned to the starting position.

23Empty Can The starting position is to have th
e athlete with the weight on the
injured arm. The arm is lifted at 30 degree
angle upward and slightly forward, slowly returne
d to starting position.
