    its own switch
  • All local calls and campus calls are free
  • No charge for use of phone lines
  • Students pay for long distance calls---more than
    15 miles from campus
  • Long distance calls require a calling card
  • Calling cards will be sold in the bookstore

Unified Messaging
  • No need for an answering machine
  • Any message can be retrieved from a PC, a
    landline, or a mobile telephone.
  • If no one answers the room phone the call can be
    transferred to a cell phone
  • If a line is busy it goes to voice or email
  • Can check voice or email from anywhere on or off
    campus
  • An email can be read out on the telephone

  • Not all PCs work with the Novell network
  • Need a network interface card (NIC)
  • Can be installed before arriving at NCC
  • Can be installed by a ResNet for free

    Base-TX)
  • If installed by dealer or friend before arriving
    we cannot assist with problems
  • ITS staff can install before classes start
  • Six foot patch cable

    that will tell them how to get to

    check.
  • Good for any computer problem that takes less
    than an hour to fix (this is the case the
    majority of the time).
