  • There is only one telephone jack per room

  • Students get a Pin or AUTH code number that they
    use to make call
  • Billed only for calls made on the PIN or AUTH

  • The rates for local calls 0 to 8 miles are 7
    cents for the first 30 minutes and then a penny a
    minute after that.
  • The rates for long distance are 3.9 cents a
    minutes anytime, but you must sign up for the
    Discount Plan to receive this rate.

  • Bills sent electronically if you want a paper
    copy it is 2.50
  • Pay by check, credit card or Internet check using
    Resicoms Pay-by-Web service. Information is
    available at Resicoms site.

  • There is no on-site representative but we have a
    toll free extension to use to contact them
  • Resicom has a web site which is college specific
    therefore use NCC

  • There is a credit limit of 100 per month
  • The telephone is disconnected if the credit limit
    is exceeded
  • Pay a reconnect fee
  • Most students do not exceed the limit
  • You can pay in advance with a check to raise the
    limit

  • Students can use calling cards but it is usually
    more expensive

  • Parents can set up their own accounts with
    Resicom for student use
  • The student will get an additional code to use
    when calling family
  • You will be billed for it
  • You need to contact Resicom directly

  • No need for an answering machine
  • Voice mail is
  • If no one answers or line is busy it goes to
    voice mail
  • Can check voice mail from anywhere on or off
    campus
  • Voice mail moves with student if there is a room
    change

  • A web address which will explain how to dial on
    and off campus and how to use voice mail

  • These drives are active as long as a student is
    continually enrolled at NCC
  • F- Drive 55-MB hard drive space
  • W-Drive10 MB hard drive space for web pages

Wireless Access
  • North Central has 2 buildings that have wireless
    access
  • Osterle Library
  • White Activities Center
  • Students can check out a wireless card in either
    building. Their laptop will need to be
    configured by ITS for wireless access

  • NCC gets a discount on T-1 lines
  • Cost is 12,000 per T-1 line
  • The College has 3 T-1s and is planning on adding
    a fourth
  • The network cannot be used for
  • Business
  • For profit activities

  • Do not monitor students unless someone complains
    or there is a problem and it is traced to a
    student
