• IKTC is a regional oriented knowledge and

Peter de Groote lectures

• What?
• Strategic, academical lectures that focus on the
  socio-economic position of the Zaanstreek region.
  The goal is to initiate and stimulate a way of
  thinking that will lead this region into a new
  phase of development.
• Why?
• This region must make a change in order to
  continue to compete with the rest of Europe and
  the world. Therefore old industrial complexes
  need to renew their production methods,
  management systems but should also invest in RD
  in order to keep up with the rest of the world.

BPV-bureau (where students and SME business meet)

• What?
• Web-based communication tool for students and
  SMEs
• Why?
• Both parties find difficulties in finding
  eachother during practise periods on schools and
  vv. This web-based tool should facilitate both
  parties in an easy way to find eachother

ProMitech

• What?
• Private public vocational training initiative
• Why?
• Public vocational training partner could not
  afford to keep the training going, because
  students did not choose for the process-industry.
  However process-industry has a wide basis in our
  region (Douwe Egberts, Cargill, ADM Cocoa) and
  therefor the private participants decided to
  continue the process-course as a future
  labour-investment.

• What?
• Design and exploitation of a web-based database
  on the basis of supply demand. On the one hand
  companies can sign in to participate and share
  their knowledge on the other hand companies can
  offer/ask other participants for certain products
  and or services.
• Why?
• We have noticed that many companies need to share
  information. However sharing information also
  means that you open your doors for the
  competition. Is this a threat or a challenge? On
  the long run the benefits will be bigger than the
  threats!
