1. The Institute of Aging Biotechnology
This institute established for educations of
gerontology and geriatric fields for
undergraduate and graduate students

Hallym University Have Several Leading Groups for
Research of Basic Clinical Neuroscience
1. Stroke Cerebrovascular Disease Research
Center Recently 25 faculty members from
clinic (department of neurology and
neurosurgery) and basic (department of anatomy,
pharmacology, pathology and physiology) are
involved to study for stroke and cerebrovascular
disease This center established multi-center
integrated stroke databank system and
standardization of stroke therapy

2. The Institute of Natural Medicine This
institute has been focusing on two research
fields. One is on preventive or therapeutic
applications of natural medicinal plant
resources to diseases, such as Alzheimer's
disease, pain, and inflammatory disorders. The
other is on nociception and analgesia This
institute has been funded from The Ministry of
Education Human Resources, Korea and
industries The four faculty members of this
institute have published over 50 distinguished
research papers in journals registered in
SCI during the last five years

3. The Ilsong Institute of Life Science This
institute has been focusing on two research
fields of neurodegenerative diseases (prion and
Alzheimers disease). The Korea National
Institute of Health (KNIH) has assigned this
institute to the Korea CJD Diagnostic Center
(KCJDC) in June, 2001 The Ministry of
Health Welfare, Korea has also assigned
this institute to the Research Center for
Aging mechanism and development of
biotechnology for aging control in July,
2002 The six faculty members of this
institute have published over 64 distinguished
research papers in journals registered in SCI
during the last five years
