Title: Tips-for-Choosing-a-Tripod-Head (1)
1Photographers are choosy about their gear because
the outcome of the photography stint depends on
it. The most probable unit they all opt for once
they have their camera is the tripod. This helps
them take better photographs and helps them
adjust the angle to get the best light effect.
Beginners usually opt for the all in one tripod
that is cheap and has about everything needed to
take perfect pictures.
All-in-one tripod stand
But, is that it? No, because there are things
that the all-in-one tripod stands cannot do. At
the professional level of photography, the
demands remain more and only if you have the
ability to maneuver your camera into the proper
position, you will get the best shot. So, this
brings up the solution to the problem. Use
detachable heads and legs in your tripod
assembly. How does this solve the problem? Using
detachable tripod heads helps because you can
position the camera in many more angles that
were not possible before.
Tilt Tripod Head
Among the types of tripod heads, the most popular
one is the Tilt Tripod Head. These have control
levers with some levers to fine tune the control
that the other levers give. You will often find
a built-in bubble level in the high-end ones.
They give you more precision than the Ball Head
Tripod Head. But compared to the Ball Head
Tripod, you need more steps to adjust the camera
well. So, to make a simple vertical control for
your scene you need to rock your Ball Head to
one side and that is it. But, with the Tilt
Tripod Head, you must use many levers to move
the camera to one side and then depress it to the
right angle. Next is the Ball Head tripod head.
The ball heads can swivel 360 degrees like a ball
bearing. You can tighten or loosen this ball
with a lever on one side. You fix the camera on
the top and change its orientation the way you
want. So, you can use it in landscape mode or
tilt it around to use it in portrait mode. This
is the easiest thing about the Ball Head. Due to
the high degree of freedom, it it might be
difficult to get used to controlling the camera
on the mount. If you do not tighten the lever
well, the camera might flop to one side.
2Pistol Grip Tripod Head
The Pistol Grip Tripod Head is not so common.
This has the same mobility as the Ball Head but
because of their grip, these are much easier to
control. In the Ball Head, you need to move the
knob at the side to tighten the ball. Here you
can take the camera to the setting that is right
for you without any undue trouble. Choosing the
tripod might prove more problematic if you do not
prepare for it. Should it be light, what weight
it can support, these kinds of questions will
need proper answers. But, since you know the
Tripod Head you must make sure that the legs will
suit the head well.
