pandemic situation the estate was forced to close
to the public. However, the grounds have been
re-opened now and they are just perfect if you
wish to experience and breathe in fresh air.

are delighted to announce Althorp will open the
grounds to visitors for the month of August.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a picnic on the
lawns and spot the rare black fallow deer, a
simply glorious spot to spend the day being
inspired. Althorpe Estate will be opening the
grounds on a one-way walking system in order to
maintain social distancing and minimise the risk
to all visitors and staff. Can you visit the

resting place of Princess Diana is on an island
that is surrounded by a lake at Althorpe. You can
however, pay respects at the lakeside Temple that

clicking here. Is the main house and café
open? No, the main house and cafe are still
close. Because of the continuing COVID19
restrictions, Althorpe Estate will not be opening
the gift shop or any of the exhibitions along
with the main house and cafe. Also there will be
no option to purchase a ticket or guide book at
the gate, with tickets to the ground only being
available for buying online prior to arrival.
