WRF EMS Update Routine
The wrf_update.pl routine is used to easily
update your WRF EMS as patches and updates become
available

• Runs from the command line or cron
• Easily automated to eliminate the need to
  remember to check for updates
• Deactivated entry placed in crontab file during
  installation
• 16 10 /usr1/wrf/strc/wrf_update.pl gtgt
  /usr1/wrf/logs/wrf_update.log 2gt1
• Remove to activate

• Located in wrf/data/conf/config/wrf_update
  directory
• wrf_update.conf - User options file for
  wrf_update.pl
• Defines the hostname of the update server
  (soo/strc)
• Specifies what to do with the updates once
  downloaded
• Other controllable user options

• wrf_update --help
• Displays the various command-line options and
  flags available
• wrf_update list
• List the updates necessary to bring WRF EMS to
  current release

• wrf_update update install
• Download the necessary updates from the server
  and install

• wrf_update --cumulative --install
• Interpretation Download and install all of the
  cumulative updates needed to bring my EMS
  distribution up-to-date. I've been slow and lazy
  in updating the system so give me all you've got
  even though I may be updating files that I've
  already updated.
• wrf_update --restore
• Interpretation I don't like what I see from my
  update and I want to go back to the previous EMS
  version. Besides, I was just getting comfortable
  with it, just like my favorite pair of
  socksshoesjeansunderwear before the first hole
  appeared, and for a brief period thereafter.
