  • Anthropogenic
  • Produced as a by-product of petroleum industry

  • Solvent in paint, leather, rubber, and printing
    industries
  • Utilized in plastics, synthetic fibers, and
    coating industries
  • Used as an additive in gasoline to increase
    octane rating
