Title: Science CRCT 3rd Grade
1Science CRCT 3rd Grade
- PC is above all state averages and has shown an
overall 6 gain in scores over the last three
testing years. As the next slide shows, the
weakest area is in Inquiry science methodologies
which will increase as labs increase. GPS should
aid in this effort. Strengths are ES and PS.
2Science CRCT 3rd Grade
3Science CRCT 4th Grade
- PC is above all state averages and has shown an
overall 6 gain in scores over the last three
testing years. As the next slide shows, the
weakest area is in life science although we are
still 4 above the state average. GPS should aid
in this effort along with a Math Science
Partnership Grant (MSP) targeting our content
needs. PS is a strength.
4Science CRCT 4th Grade
5Science CRCT 5th Grade
PC is above all state averages and has shown an
overall 5 gain in scores over the last three
testing years. As the next slide shows, the
weakest area is in inquiry although we are still
3 above the state average. GPS should aid in
this effort along with a Math Science Partnership
Grant (MSP) targeting our content needs. LS is a
strength.
6Science CRCT 5th Grade
7Science CRCT 6th Grade
PC is above all state averages and declined by 2
last year. The state scores declined by 6 last
year however. As the next slide shows, the
weakest area is in inquiry although we are still
2 above the state average. GPS should aid in
this effort along with a Math Science Partnership
Grant (MSP) targeting our content needs. Energy
is a strength.
8Science CRCT 6th Grade
9Science CRCT 7th Grade
- PC is above all state averages and has shown an
overall 1 gain in scores over the last three
testing years. As the next slide shows, the
weakest area is in inquiry although we are still
4 above the state average. GPS should aid in
this effort along with a Math Science Partnership
Grant (MSP) targeting our content needs. Cells,
human body genetics are strengths.
10Science CRCT 7th Grade
11Science CRCT 8th Grade
PC is above all state averages although declining
by 6 last year. Additionally, the state scores
declined by 1. As the next slide shows, the
weakest area is in inquiry where we meet the
state average. GPS should aid in this effort
along with a Math Science Partnership Grant (MSP)
targeting our content needs. The curriculum will
be changing to PS in 2007. Hydrology,
meteorology, and environmental science are
strengths.
12Science CRCT 8th Grade
13Science GHSGT
- Overall scores show a 1 decrease over three
years, while the state had a 2 decrease. Areas
of weakness within the GHSGT are in process
skills which include inquiry. This mirrors the
same problems we are having with elementary and
middle school science in scientific thinking
skills. Once again, the MSP grant addresses this
concern. Strength is in PS.
14Physical Science End-of-Course Test
- PC has shown an overall 6 increase in PS scores
while still 1 over the state average.
Weaknesses are in chemistry including matter,
atomic theory, and nomenclature. Strengths are
in physics in the area of waves, electricity, and
magnetism.
15Biology End-of-Course Test
- PC has shown an overall 7 increase in biology
scores while 9 over the state average. The only
weakness is in cellular basis of life. Strengths
are in plants and animals.
