  • By Lora Ivanova

Introduction What determines a book a classic?
Most think it's the age of the book, but
that's not always the case. One thing is for
sure. Symbolism and theme are definitely
important factors!

Quote A Short History of Nearly Everything
takes readers on a wonderful historic journey of
science during the 19th and 20th century. Books
go way back to 13.5 billion years ago when our
universe formed, forward to 5.5 billion years ago
when our planet Earth formed, then on to the
present through the eyes of physicists,
mathematicians, biologists, geologists,
geneticists... and all in a language that even
the most unscientific can understand and enjoy.
4

book is a classic.
15
  • How are books composed of, you ask? Why by
themes of course! In any classic, there are at
    least three different themes.

16
  • Themes are a topic of discourse or discussion, a
subject of artistic representation, an implicit
    or recurrent idea.

17
  • Most of the time, a classical book will you make
you think you relate to it in real life.

around

  • Wealth
  • Class
  • Madness
  • Competition between families

19
  • Some people say books are classics when they look
at the age and how yellowed the pages are. But
    ask yourself this.

20
  • Does the book have symbolism?

21
  • Does it have more than one theme that gets you so
hooked so hooked, that you dont want to put it
    down?

22
  • If you answered yes, then you probably have
    yourself a real classic.

23
  • I hope that this presentation taught you
something about being able to determine what a
    classic is.

24
  • So in a way classics really have shaped our
history by providing us with more imagination,
and helping us remember events that happened in
    the past.
