Perfected in Jesus

• Jesus turns water into wine at the wedding in
  Cana and manifested his glory and his disciples
  believed in him John 211

  original meaning of the union of man and woman as
  the Creator willed it from the beginning CCC

Marriage is covenantal

• Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother
  and cleaves to his wife, and they become one
  flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked,
  and were not ashamed Gen 224-25

Marriage is a One Flesh Union

• Since God created him man and woman, their
  mutual love becomes an image of the absolute and
  unfailing love with which God loves man. It is
  good, very good, in the Creators eyes. - CCC

  together, let no man put asunder

Man and Woman as equal

• Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the
  Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as
  Christ is the head of the church, his body, and
  is himself its Savior.

The dignity of the Human Person

• Every human person is a unique creation of God,
  in His image, and as such every person has a
  dignity special to him or her. This dignity
  cannot be violated without sinning against God.
