Living on Campus

• Housing and Residence Life -
• Two different living communities on campus
• Traditional Halls
• ULP Privatized Halls
• Single goal to provide experience for students
  that help them succeed at transitioning and being
  at UofL

Traditional Halls

• Unitas, Miller, West and Wellness are freshmen
  only halls
• Stevenson, Threlkeld and Center have both
  freshman and returning students
• Louisville and UTA are restricted to returning
  students only
• May still have some spaces for fall
• Will have spaces for spring
• Tours of rooms and halls after dinner until 730

ULP Halls Freshmen may live in all ULP halls

• Bettie Johnson Hall full apartment facility with
  kitchens private bedrooms / baths.
• Kurz and Community Park are suite
  facilities/baths, but no kitchen in the units
• Billy Minardi Hall is a male only hall.
• Full at the moment, wait list on all. Some of
  the wait list will be assigned.
• Will have spaces for the spring
• Tours of rooms and halls after dinner and until
  1000

Getting involved in the halls

• Both Housing and ULP have resident assistants and
  leaders living and working with the students in
  the halls.
• Many activities occur in the halls and across
  campus weekly encourage your student to get out
  and participate

Getting involved in the halls

• Each hall has a governing council that welcomes
  freshmen participation
• The Resident Student Association is the residence
  hall primary council they plan events, advocate
  for students, and participate on issues involving
  the students.

Canceling or Moving

• If your student decides to cancel housing there
  will be a cancellation fee. That fee increases
  according to a schedule. See the cancellation
  policy on line
• If your student decides not to attend UofL,
  he/she needs to cancel with Housing / ULP as
  well.

Canceling or moving.

• Your student will not be able to move between ULP
  and Housing without paying a cancellation fee.
• He/She may be able to move within the area (same
  hall or different hall) as space is available.

Moving in

• Move in Dates and processes for the fall are
  different in the traditional halls and ULP halls.
  Watch for information from the area you have
  signed to live for details.
• It will be HOT and DRY, or HOT and Rainy, but
  guaranteed to be HOT the day you move in.

Meal Plan

• Students living in the campus halls must
  participate in the mandatory meal plan.
• The only exception to the meal plan is Bettie
  Johnson Hall and University Tower Apartments.

Meal Plan waivers

• Granted for extreme reasons that are documented
  to a committee
• Metropolitan College only automatic exception
  still must apply for waiver each semester
• See cancellation policy for meal plan waiver
  process and timeline
