• A network configuration that uses radio waves
  for intercommunication.

• Workstation transmits data via radio waves to
  Access point
• Access point (control module) is connected to
  wired LAN
• Access point transmits data to PDA or other
  wireless device.

• Infrared can not pass through walls.
• Transmission rate 1-2 Mbps
• Direct Sequence spread spectrum
• Transmission rate up to 2 Mbps ( effected by
  sound)
• Distance up to 800 feet

• Security issues
