SAT Information
  • You can take the SAT more than once they will
combine scores and take you highest
  • If you arent ready they will send you away
  • Dont take the test right away after you took it.
(wait to get score back, see where improvement is
    needed)
  • If you know you did bad you can cancel your
score, and nobody will be the wiser
  • If you have questions ask before the test taking
    has begun

7
Strategy
  • Go through and answer the ones you know
  • If you have time come back to the hard ones
    later
  • Try to Eliminate answers to better your chances
  • Use Context Clues
  • Dont forget you have your calculator but dont
    abuse it.
  • Always answer the Free Response Questions (No
    points are deducted)

8
Dont Cram?
  • Why isnt it a good idea to cram for the SAT?
  • You cant prepare, you have no clue what will be
    on the test
  • There is too much information to cover
  • Your brain will be fried

9
Things to Keep in Mind
  • If you get a question wrong you lose a fraction
    of a point
  • Every question is worth one point so answer the
ones which are easier and take you less time
  • Free Response has no penalty for wrong answers
  • No points are taken off for unanswered questions
  • Have a rough idea of the score you want

10
Why take the SAT?
  • To go to a four year college
  • To show Intelligence
  • To separate you from the competition
