The British Education System at QIS
  • In Years 7-9 we follow the British National
Curriculum. Subjects are reported in levels from
    3-7 (8 in Maths)
  • In Year 10 and 11 we also follow the BNC through
the GCSE/IGCSE programme run by the UK Cambridge
and Edexcel exam boards. Subjects are reported in
    Grades from G A
  • In Year 12 and 13 we run the A level examinations
also run by Edexcel. At the end of Year 12
students sit exams called A/S and sit further
exams in Year 13 for the full A level. Subjects
are reported in grades from E - A

4
The Reporting System
  • The reporting system has three main aims
  • 1. to maximise communication and information
    with parents.
  • 2. to give useful regular feedback to students
    and parents
  • 3. to identify areas of concern early to allow
    time for change

5
The Reporting System 2
  • Students receive a report every ½ term (approx 6
    weeks)
  • The three half term reports contain information
on effort and any areas of concern (homework,
    motivation, concentration, behaviour)
  • The two term reports (Term 1 and 2) contain
information on attained levels/grades for the
term as well as information about effort and
    areas of concern
  • Near the end of each year a detailed report is
written. For Year 11 students this will be after
their Mock Exams which are held in January
  • Year 10 students will receive a detailed exam
results sheet in June on completion of end of
    term exams

6
Expectations
  • At QIS we value above all else our students
effort and their willingness to be a positive
    member of the school community.

  • We always expect our students to behave
responsibly and follow school rules and
    procedures.
