    tools in PR.
  • During your career, you will be asked to write
    speeches for executives, prepare visual aids such
    as PPT, do speaker training, get executives on
    the agenda of important conferences, organize
    speaker bureaus, publicize speeches, and even
    give a few speeches and presentations yourself.

The Basics of Speech Writing
  • A good speechwriter has the ability to stand in
    the shoes of the person who must give the speech
    (sociologists call this emphatic ability)

  • You can develop emphatic ability only after a
    great deal of research and thorough discussion
    with the person for whom you are writing

Researching Audience Speaker
  • The first step in speech writing is to find out
    everything possible about the audience (Who?
    Where? When? How many people? What time of the
    day? Purpose of meeting? Length of speech?
    Purpose of talk?)
  • Also need to learn everything about the speaker
    (how his or her mind works, what word phrases are
    favored, and what kinds of opinions are
    expressed)
