Objective 1
Applying to College
  • Meet with your guidance counselor now to
  • check your graduation status and Core 40
  • completion. Ask your guidance counselor
  • for about community volunteering activities.
  • Visit at least two college campuses now, if
  • you have not.
  • Research schools on-line to see if they offer
  • the program of study that you want to pursue.

Objective 2Registering for the SAT and/or ACT
Visit your guidance counselors office to get
registration materials for the SAT and/or
ACT. Complete the registration packet and mail
it. (You will have to select a test date.) Use
the sample test booklets to prepare for the test.

Objective 3Finding Money for College
Register with FASTWEB to get information about
scholarships. Visit your guidance counselors
office to get information about
scholarships. Complete the FAFSA (Free
Application for Student Aid) after January 1,
2008. File your taxes early so that you will be
able to complete this document. Attend an
Educational Talent Search Financial Aid Workshop
or a Financial Aid Night event at your school to
get information. Attend College Goal Sunday to
receive assistance with completing your FAFSA.
