Goals

• The goal of water managment is integrated and
  harmonized water regime on the entire state
  territory and in each individual river basin
  district, which means care for spatial
  distribution (construction level of the water
  system) and for status of water quantity and
  water quality in a manner that is best suited for
  a particular area and a particular time, i.e.
• ensuring sufficient quality drinking water for
  water supply of the population
• ensuring sufficient water quantities of adequate
  quality for different economic uses
• Protecting people and material goods from
  adverse effects of water
• protecting and improving waters, aquatic and
  water-dependent ecosystems.
• Integrated management of waters surface inland
  waters, groundwater, transitional waters, coastal
  waters, the sea and river basins - space water
  estate, sanitary protection zones of the source
  and recharge areas of strategic drinking water
  reserves)
• Rational investments into water systems,
  multipurpose use of water and technical solutions
  which balance / harmonize economic and
  environmental needs and constraints.
