Why is AdF_at_st required?
  • To make it easier for customers, both advertisers
    agencies, to do business with our industry
  • To provide a common single portal for the
    delivery of artwork files to any newspaper title
  • To provide these files in a single format and to
    a consistent high quality
  • To prevent third party companies imposing
    additional costs on us as an industry

How is it performing?
Since AdF_at_sts launch in August 2000 (when it
handled under 300 files)
  • Now handles up to 30,000 files per week
  • Over 1,450 titles per month receive files
  • 3,000 uploaders now use AdF_at_st every month
  • 2,000,000th file sent late July 2005
  • Traffic rate now exceeds 1,250,000 files p.a.
  • Handles over 1,400 files per hour at peak times

  • Associated Newspapers join AdFast

Summary
  • Agencies are now sending some 125,000 files every
    month via AdF_at_st - some 75 of total
  • AdF_at_st now widely accepted throughoutthe UK as
    an industry standard
  • Fading ISDN network increases relevance ofAdF_at_st
    as the major conduit to publishers
  • We need to ensure we can continue to develop
    AdF_at_st to keep it at the forefront of technical
    development and excellence

2006 Budget highlights
  • Third party revenue expected to exceed 100,000
    for the first time
  • Subscriptions for Founder Members to be held at
    2005 levels no increase
  • Major development project (AdsML) planned for
    2006 to be funded from increasing revenue from
    third party and database subscribers
