John Flowers RD Development Engineer
John Flowers is an RD Development engineer in
the Nanotechnology Measurements Division (NMD) of
Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara. His primary
responsibility is developing Electronics for AFM
(Atomic Force Microscopes). He joined
Hewlett-Packard in 1983, while still in high
school, as a summer intern working on CAD system
installation and support and continued to work
there each summer during his college years. After
graduating in 1989, he started working full time
in Production Engineering for Microwave Frequency
Counters. In 1996 John transferred from Software
to Hardware development and began developing
electronics for laser position measurements.
Johns core competency is in the use of FPGAs for
signal processing and control. His recent product
developments include the N1231A PCI Laser Axis
Card and N1225A VME Laser Axis Card. John
Flowers received his Bachelor of Science in
Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis
Obispo. Johns hobbies include Video
editing/production, Digital Photography and
helping out at his church.
