LIFE Ladder targeting methodology

• 3 tier approach
• Intensive, Intermediate, Universal
• Schools ranked using data such as NSSEC from
  Census 2001, IMD 2007 and SEN
• Top 10 Intensive schools above natural break
  chosen for LIFE Ladder participation

• 15 Intermediate schools will be offered less
  intensive activities from the 3 strands
• 11 Universal schools will be offered information
  only
• 1 anomaly Carter Community College will be
  involved through multi agency intervention

• Meeting with Head teacher and senior staff
• Discuss activities and curriculum needs
• Offered menu
• Schools have to provide a named co-ordinator and

• Agree to nominate member of staff to work with
  Olivier Ed identifying target cohort
• Using names selected by post code data tool
• Aimhigher cohort selected by NS-SEC 4-8,
  potential to progress to L3 using school
  knowledge (e.g. parental occupation Fisher
  Family Trust)
• Also Looked After Children SEN
