Registration

• 11 hours today
• Add others during June 26-July 11
• Can adjust further in August when they return
• MUST have at least 12 hours by
• July 11 but SHOULD have 14-17 hours

Registration

• Our curriculum is not designed to be general in
  just first two years. Our ILS curriculum spans
  all four years.
• Exploration to identify interests and possible
  majors is good to do during this first year.
• Our programs can be accomplished in four years
  with plenty of room for electives.

During the Semester

• Most freshmen experience some challenges due
  primarily to time-management issues.

What NOT to do?
You should not call the instructor of the class.
FERPA rules apply, but MOST importantly, students
need to learn how to negotiate, work through
difficult times, deal with disappointment..
These skills are needed by all of us as we live
and work with other people throughout our lives.

What can you do?

• Suggest to your student what She or He might do
  so that they can learn how to work through
  challenges on their own.
• - Have you been to talk with your instructor?
• - Have you been to the Writing Center, Peer
  Tutoring office, Math Lab, Chemistry Tutorials?
• - Are you going to class?

Responsibilities

• Students receive notifications via their UNC
  Asheville email account. These messages are
  important and we expect them to read them!
• Students need to keep their mailing and telephone
  information up-to-date.
