2What is Technology Integration?
- The use of computer or other electronic media
resources to motivate student learning. - Technology Integration supports the curriculum,
not drive or be the curriculum. - Technology Integration is aligned with the
National Educational Technology Standards, the
Sunshine State Standards, and the Essential
Learnings for Pinellas County.

- Motivates learning by providing hands on
experiences for students. - Encourages responsibility for students own
learning by providing students the tools to face
real world problems. - Encourages responsibility for the care and
maintenance of personal property.
4Classroom Laptop Expectations and Management
Procedures
5Student care of equipment
- Handling Rule use both hands, when moving around
the classroom. - Students are expected to stay in their seats and
not carry the laptops around the room. Set
expectations if they move about the room. - Printing delivered to the desk by teacher or
student helper to reduce movement in the room. - Inspect equipment at check in is a must.
6Management Procedures
- When introducing a program, give students time
for exploration. - Hold laptop with two hands.
- Assign the same laptop to the same student each
time. - Put lids down at a 45 degree angle when
instructing. - Have a system to check out and check in laptops
from cart. Check for damage or missing keys. - Develop a procedure for helping students when
things go wrong. Example C3B4Me, raise your
hand. -

- Save work to personal folders on the desktop and
then to server at the end of day. - Naming conventions- give students a standard
format to save assigned work. - Student buddy check- students check each others
work before turning in. - Fonts, color and size restrictions. 12 or 14 size
exceptions for special projects.

- Printing print only with permission, print 1
copy only. - Maintain a website list for students to add to
for sharing with others or when they have
completed their assignments. - Set a policy for restricting the downloading of
games, music and video during class. - Set a zero tolerance policy for surfing the web,
instant messaging and chat rooms.

12Computer Use Agreement Form
- All students must have an agreement form turned
in and an active account before use the
computers. - Check on SASI to see if they have agreements
turned in. - Do Not share user names or passwords.
13Student Log-In
- Students Log-In name is their student ID
- 52XXXXXXXXXXX
- Student passwords, the first time they log on it
is password. They will be prompted to change
their passwords. - Log In name is student.
- Password is student.
14Teacher Class Sign-up
- Post a calendar for all to see. Send an email
with the dates you would like to use the lab. - The lab will need to be picked up and returned
each day. Have a process to store over night in
your classroom. - Lesson plan needs to be developed or submitted
prior to using the lab. - If the projector is needed have a process for
moving it from room to room.

- Think about room arrangement. Turn desks into
rows facing back of room. Teacher monitors what
all students are doing. - Small groups. arrange chairs head to head, side

- Curriculum Powerpoint to compare and contrast a
concept. - Grabbing photos from internet and creating movies
or presentations. - Pick a math concept and produce a video how this
concept is used in a real life situation.
18Really Big Ideas !
- Use sensory probes, microscopes and spreadsheets
to examine the effects of water temperature on
the production of algae. - Use the internet to view satellite places in
novels. Visit the Chamber of Comerce to
understand the social dynamics of the community
and therfore, the context of the novel. Google
Earth. - Use a spreadsheet to record times of travel
between cities, figuring in travel, speeds,
weather conditions and distances. - Video the jumpshot in basketball to observe the
techniques to improve performance.
