  • No matter where you are going, whether its to
the Grand Canyon or Grandmas house, road trips
can take a lot out of you especially if you
have kids. We have compiled some great tips for
you and your family to make it through any road
    trip.

3
Safety
First
  • The planning has to start before everyone piles
    into the car.
  • If you are using a child car seat, make sure it
    has been installed correctly.
  • Double check that everyone is wearing his or her
    seat belts.

4
Timing Is Everything
  • A key decision to make is when would you like to
do most of the driving? If you leave early in the
morning or later in the evening your kids may end
up sleeping through a majority of the trip
helping you to concentrate on road.

5
Plan Your Stops
  • Before heading out, plot out a few places to stop
and eat. Having a meal will help break up the
monotony of the trip for your kids. Also, knowing
where you are going to stop in advance will help
your family from being stuck miles and miles away
    from the nearest restaurant.

6
Pack Activities
  • Pack a bag of books, games, action figures, and
any toys that will keep your kids entertained.
One thing to remember, dont bring anything that
will annoy you. If their videogames have sound,
    consider bringing headphones for them.

7
The Right Snacks
  • One thing you dont want when you are stuck in
the car for long periods of time restless kids.
Avoid snacks and drinks with high amounts of
sugar or caffeine. Before hitting the road, make
a bag of healthy snacks for everyone in the car
to share peanut butter celery sticks, low-fat
cheese and crackers, or lettuce wraps with
lunchmeat are all great options and kid
    favorites.

8
Teamwork
  • Car games can keep everyone from being bored.
Play the games you played when you were a kid or
go online and find new games that can become a
family tradition. Classic road trip games include
    Slug-a-Bug, I Spy, and 20 Questions.

9
Make it Comfortable,
Make it Fun
  • Pillows, and blankets can be lifesavers. The more
comfortable your children are the less likely
they are to be upset or grumpy. Bathroom breaks
around the two-hour mark can also allow everyone
to stretch his or her legs. Have the kids run
around for a couple minutes, so that they can
settle in for more car time.

  • For over 50 years, Scenic Airlines has been the
standard in aerial sightseeing tours. They were
the first company to offer an airborne tour over
the Grand Canyon. Over 300,000 people a year fly
with Scenic Airlines, its no wonder that their
name has become synonymous with the Grand Canyon
    and exceptional customer service.
