At Portsmouth
Groups are divided into x, y, and z to tour The
Victory and museum and visit the Trafalgar
Experience. Pupils are reminded to listen
carefully and staff and pupils return punctually
to enable sufficient time to reach the ferry
for departure.
On the ferry
Children are taken as a group, to either the top
deck (weather permitting) or the lounge. The
children remain seated throughout the ferry
crossing only leaving their seats to visit the
toilets (accompanied). Staff position themselves
around the children to ensure they remain calm
and safe. Regular headcounts are taken throughout
the day.
On arrival at Winchester House
Suitcases are distributed to the rooms/landings
by members of the team. Children then take
responsibility for their own cases and
unpack. Whilst cases are unloaded and despatched
to landings, children gather in the day room with
remaining staff for introductions and house
rules. Regular room inspections ensure rooms stay
well organised and clean.
