VV Minerals has been issued a case of illegal
mining, requiring the director of the company,
VVM Vaikundarajan, to be under the check of
judiciaries all the time. VV Minerals
Vaikundarajan, has been open to all the

The then collector of Tuticorin, Ashish Kumar,
raised this issue of illegal mining bringing VV
Minerals in the enquiry. Later it was proved that
the collector was linked to the rivals of VV
Minerals and he was transferred immediately.

The competitors of VV Minerals have gone to the
extent of spreading rumours that VV Mineral
Vaikundarajans closeness to power helps him
get through the situation. On the other hand, the
supporters of Vaikundarajan claim that these are
false allegations by the competitors. VV Mineral
Vaikundarajans rival businessman, D Dhaya
Devadas, filed a case against him because
Vaikundarajan, as Mr. Dhaya claims, openly
admitted of bribing the officials in an industry
meeting.

VV Minerals has a huge annual output of 150,000
tonnes of garnet abrasives, 225,000 tonnes of
ilmenite, 12,000 tonnes of zircon and 5,000
tonnes of rutile, and the suspension orders on
the operations since March 2010 have compromised
it all for the company.
