Before you file a motion to modify your existing
child custody agreement, there are a few factors
you need to consider.

  1. The Childs Best Interest - The courts will only
    consider a child custody change if it can be
    established that it is in the childs best
    interest.

allow changes to a child custody agreement every
two years.

3. Three Separate Filings You must file separate
modifications for child custody, decision-making
responsibilities, and parenting time. 4. You and
Your Ex Agree If you and your ex are in
agreement on the child custody modifications,
then you can file a stipulation to ask the courts
to modify your existing responsibilities.

ex do not agree on the new modifications to your
child custody, you must file a motion to modify
with the courts.
