2- Executive Summary
- Jones Valley Middle Schools ACIP call for the
inclusion of technology within the curriculum. As
a Title I school, with an underprivileged
population, our students lack resources vital to
compete in a global workforce. - Research suggest technology integration within
the curriculum framework enhances student
productivity, competitiveness and self-
sufficiency to sustain productive members of
society.
3Technology for Teaching and Learning
Yao and Quang (2000) argue that technology
training tends to focus on computer applications
such as word processing, spreadsheets and
databases. Technology for teaching and learning
should be part of the instruction milieu and not
be added as an afterthought activity.
4Issue of Concern
- Concern Teachers are not trained to implement
technology within their curriculum frameworks. - Projected Concern Solution 1 Provide school wide
professional development opportunities to
increase teachers knowledge and ability to turn
information around for enhanced student learning.
5Teacher Limitations
- Leh (2005) reveals that teachers admitted they
did not resist technology per se but agreed that
they could not fully integrate it into their own
practices because of the organizational,
administrative, pedagogical, or personal
constraints (p. 19).
6Project Objectives
- Objectives Student outcomes include anticipated
goal of 25 increase in student academic gains by
the end of the 2019-2020 school year. - Gains to be measured pre technology implantation
(Fall Scantron Data) to (Spring Scantron Data). - Project Objectives will contribute to the
achievement serving as a direct aim for
accountability and implantation to mastery. This
project will provide essential skills for our
students. - Timeframe Fall 2019 Spring 2020
7Societal Changes
- Pierson (2001) recognized that society has
embraced computer technology and allowed it to
reinvent the ways in which we create, find,
exchange, and even think about information.
8Documentation and Findings Share
- Project documentation includes teacher lesson
plans, student portfolios and technology standard
usage during and after implantations. - Findings will be shared via the school website,
Birmingham city website all calls, and the US
Postal Service.
9Project Budget
- Cost are 0.00
- All presenters will be free of charge as this
initiative serves to cultivate a community of
life long learners.
