Introduction
E-commerce is categorized as business-to-business
(B2B), business-to-customer (B2C), and
business-to-government (B2G) based on
collaborating bodies such as corporations,
customers and governments. A statistical
evaluation done in 1.8 billion people purchased
products online which in turn lead to the
increase in e-retail sales to 2.8 trillion U.S.
dollars across the globe. Selecting and
implementing the suitable e-commerce business
model is a challenging task for the people who
are new to the field of business. Therefore, the
most popular form of e-commerce falls into the
classification of business to consumer (B2C) for
business people around the globe.

Drop shipping is a process in which business can
market and sell products in online platforms
without stocking the products in an inventory.
Drop Shipping
When customers places orders, drop shippers buy
the product from the supplier, do the shipping
and delivers it to the customers.
Business people engaging in drop shipping do not
need to focus on manufacturing and inventory and
can focus more on investing. Some of the popular
e-commerce drop shipping platforms
include Shopify, PretaShop and Woo Commerce.

Print-on-Demand
Print-on-Demand or POD is another business model
which allows the user to set up a business where
they can sell their customized products. APOD
business creates an opportunity for business
people to build their brand in the way they
envision their enterprises to be. POD along with
digital technology, is incorporated in printing
commodities by fixating a fixed cost per copy
regardless of the nature of the order. POD
revolves around the process of printing products
only demand eliminating the use of inventory.

Private Label
A Private Label business model is the model
termed as selling products. Under a private
label product selling, the business people can
able to sell the products manufactured by the
third party under their brand names. The
manufacturer produces the product as per the
requirement and ships it the retailer who sells
the manufactured products under their brand
names. For instance, Amazon is a private label
for E-commerce platforms.

White Label
White label business models are termed as the
retailers who resell common products which are
procured from a dealer and apply their brand
names. This business model is generally a
two-way process in which the products are
produced by one company and other company
rebrands and dispenses it. For instance, the
retailers who sells white-label products in
social media.

Subscription Service
A subscription business model generally permits
the customers to buy a product or a service and
further allows them to subscribe for a particular
period either on the monthly basis or a yearly
basis. The customers can either cancel the
subscription or can continue the service by
renewing it. Some of the E-commerce stores which
works on the subscription-based business model
are Five Four Club work and Tie Bar.

Wholesaling
  • Wholesaling is a business model where the
    products are sold in bulk and at a lower price
    than the current market prices by e-commerce
    stores.
  • Wholesale e-commerce necessitates remarkable
    effort in both modern and traditional sales
    networks like trade shows, telesales, marketing,
    and influencer advertising to obtain commercial
    partners.
  • New models for e-commerce business-to-customer
    remain to grow as far as the companies discover
    new ways to carry out the activity.
