Where did chess originate from?
  • Chess was originated in India and it is given as
a gift in the 6th century by an Indian raja to a
    Persian Shah Khosrau I Anushiruwan.

5
  • What happens if a chess player wants to promote
his pawn to a queen, but his queen is still on
    the chessboard?

6
  • The player can use any other piece as a queen
because we know that the queen is the most
    powerful piece.
  • The official rules of the game say that the
player should stop the clock and summon the
arbiter for the correct piece if there is no
    queen on the chessboard.
  • You can also use an upside-down rook to designate
as a queen. But if you have a good and fine set
of chess there may be an extra queen for each
    side.

7
Big concept
  • Which pieces in the game of chess are involved in
    castling?

8
  • King and rooks can be used in the game of chess
while castling. The moves which involve the
players king and its original rooks are known as
castling. A player can move two pieces only in
this single move and this is the only move
instead of knights move where a piece can jump
    over another.

9
What do we call a chess match in which a chess
player plays simultaneously with many opponents?
  • We can call it as an exhibition in which weak or
amateur players play with chess champions.

10
How many squares are on a chessboard?
  • A chess board contains 64 squares and it is a
board game on which chess pieces are laid down.
The shape of the chessboard is square and it is
divided into two subdivisions in black white
colors. The chessboard is made of 88 grids.

11
What does checkmate literally mean?
When an opponent says checkmate that means your
king is not safe and he is helpless. It came from
a Persian phrase Shah mat. Some people have
this misconception that it means the king is
dead.
12
  • Q.-gt How many squares does the chessboard for the
    four-player chess variant have?

which is played with 4 people. For 4 people a
special board is with extra 3 rows of 8 cells
from each side. For four player chess variants,
