  • Baobab is native to Africa and Arabia. Adansonia
    or Baobab trees are very tall and bear a fruit
    that tastes like any other citrus fruit. The
    fruit powder is believed to be nutrient-rich.
    Here we present some of the nutritional facts of
    the Baobab fruit powder.

  • Antioxidant
  • It is one of the rich sources of antioxidants. It
    has been found that no other fruit or vegetable
    has such high content of antioxidants.
  • It has twice the level of antioxidants present in
    fruits like Acai and Goji Berries.
  • The antioxidant levels are six times higher than
    those found in other citrus fruits like
    blueberries and cranberries. The same is the case
    when compared with pomegranates.
  • The ORAC of Baobab is 1,400 per gram. ORAC or
    Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) denotes the
    Total Antioxidant Capacity or TAC of a food
    ingredient. The FDA recommends the consumption of
    about 3,000-5,000 ORAC per day for optimized
    health. When the ORAC is high, it implies that
    the food is a powerful antioxidant.

  • Baobab contains essentially four minerals in high
    quantities - Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, and
    Iron.
  • Iron
  • The iron content in this amazing fruit is three
    times more than that found in iron-rich spinach.
  • A quick comparison of iron content is enough to
    prove this. The iron content in Baobab is 6mg,
    while in Acai it is 4.4mg, in Pomegranate 0.5mg,
    and 8.4mg in Goji Berry
