Cataract

• Cataract surgery is a procedure to remove the
  lens of the affected eye and is replaced, in most
  cases, by an artificial lens known as an
  intraocular lens (IOL).
• Cataract surgery is done on an outpatient basis
  by an eye doctor (ophthalmologist), ensuring you
  don't have to stay in the hospital after the
  surgery.
• It is very normal to undergo cataract surgery
  and is usually a successful operation.

Cataract

• The use of a high-frequency ultrasound system
  that breaks up the cloudy lens into small parts
  includes most modern cataract processes, which
  are then gently withdrawn from the eye with the
  aid of suction.
• This procedure is referred to as
  phacoemulsification or 'phaco,' and can be done
  with smaller incisions than previous cataract
  removal surgical procedures, encouraging faster
  healing and reducing the risk of complications
  such as glaucoma, preventable blindness, impaired
  vision immobility, etc.
