Jamia Hamdard
Jamia Hamdard is an Institute of Emminence a
handful of institutes get the title because of
their contribution. The institute has from time

HISTORY
The institutes history goes far back to 1906
when Hakeem Abdul Majeed visioned the formation
of the institute. However, it was Hakeem Abdul
Hameed son of Hakeem Abdul Majeed who realized
the vision. Firstly Hakeem Abdul Hameed set up
the wakf to start institutions one by one. After
setting up the wakf he started the institute of
history and medicine in 1962 and in 1972 he set
up with his associates the Hamdard College of
Pharmacy. Since then the institutes evolved and
developed. It was only in 1989 the institute was
inaugurated by Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Soon the
institute became a deemed university.
Furthermore, in 2019 it was awarded Institute of
Emminence by the MHRD India.

RANKING
Jamia Hamdard(International National) Various
ranking factors and parameters are at play while

parameters are. The infrastructure o the
college, Faculty-student ratio, and foreign and
national students ratio. Luckily for Jamia, the
parameters are quite good thus the institutes
are satisfactory as well. It ranks 1st for its

• Hostel and Canteen
• The institute has hotels for teaching,
  non-teaching staff, and students. The institute
  does have hostels on campus as well as near the
  campuss vicinity. The hostels are properly
  furnished and clean water is available. Moreover,
  every hostel is equipped with recreational
  facilities like a common room and a reading room.

• Majedi Unani Hospital The Unani hospital majorly
  deals with Unani methods of curing diseases. The
  hospital specializes in wet cupping therapy,
  venesection, leech therapy, etc.
• Centenary Hospital The universitys medical
  academic wing derives great value from the
  606-bed centenary hospital. The hospital is
  modern and serves patients well. Students get
  hands-on experience at this hospital.
