  thus obtaining added value from the artichoke.
• A biotechnology spin-off of the University of
  Murcia.

Artichoke Extract

• Artichoke is rich in polyphenolics.
• Artbiochem produces an artichoke extract

Artichoke Fibre

• Insoluble plant fibres are a vital component of

• Artichoke fibre can replace fibres from other

Inulin

• A polymer of fructose monomers with a terminal
  glucose.
• Characteristics of inulin are determined by the
  chain length. (DP).
• Inulin is a soluble dietary fibre.
• The Bifidus effect of inulin reduces the
  presence of pathogenic bacteria and improves
  intestinal function.
• Used clinically to test renal function.
• Current research into its use to stabilize and
  encapsulate medicines and proteins.
• Artinulina has a very high DP (lt20, DP 20 40 y
  gt 80, DP gt 40).
• Its Bifidus effect has been demonstrated.
• Artinulina can retain large quantities of water
  in the form of a gel.

Peroxidase (AKPC)

• Peroxidase is found in many clinical diagnostic
  and immunological kits (e.g. for glucose,
  cholesterol, HIV etc).
• The main source of peroxidase is horseradish root
  (HRP).
• AKPC exhibits characteristics similar to those of
  HRP.
• AKPC is more resistent to degradation due to
  temperature improves the shelf-life of kits.
• AKPC can be applied to the neutralization of
  persistent organic pollutants.
