- The Valencian Regional Office in Brussels is
part of the Regional Ministry for Cooperation and
Participation which depends on the Presidency of
the Valencian Region. - The Delegation aims to disseminate the image of
the Valencian Region in Brussels through region
marketing, as well as to promote the training to
the young of the Valencian Region by means of the
promotion of public programs and private grants. -
- Main Objective
- Represents, defend and promotes the Valencian
Region interest before the European Union. In
order to achieve this goals the Delegation works
closely with the different European institutions,
the Spanish Permanent Representation before the
EU, the Regional Offices and other permanent
representations of other European Members.

- The Fundación Comunidad Valenciana Región
Europea, created in November 2003, is a
non-profit organization, based at the Valencian
Regional Office in Brussels. The Foundation bases
its work on the strategically tool Public
Private Partnership. www.uegva.info - The Foundation was created with the purpose of
helping the civil society in the transitional
participation on European funding as the
Valencian Region will be entering Competitiveness
Objective into 2007. - This entity facilitates the participation of the
Valencian civil society, industrial groups,
chambers of commerce, financial institutions,
local development agencies, educational
organizations (research and development
institutions), and other stakeholders in European
policies and projects.

- Public Private Partnership, the tool of the
Fundación Comunidad Valenciana - Región Europea
to promote and provide European service to social
and economic bodies in our region. - In 1999, the first policy on PPP was approved to
develop innovation projects on the framework of
the urban management by means of the research of
new technologies solutions VALENCIA INNOVA. A
tool for funding. www.valenciainnova.info - The Valencian Government has identified PPP as a
priority and collaborates with the Foundation on
the expenses location, infrastructure - 12 of operational expenses are financed by the
Valencian Government - 48 other entities support Intercitrus, IMPIVA,

172. - European consortia - 193 new consortia
- The Foundation promotes European projects and
contributes to their success through an efficient
inter-regional cooperation. Therefore the
Foundation stands as a tool for the consortium
partner search, alert service, project advise and
specialist in project communication.

Days in other European regions on how to
participate in European Projects consortiums
(Malta, Greece and Hungary). - Since the Foundation was created, collaboration
with the European regions has increased a total
of 193 new consortiums have been promoted. The
Valencian Region has obtained 41 of the
LIFE-Environment funds allocated to Spain in 2004
and every third Spanish project has been approved
in the Valencian Region in 2005, the second
consecutive year of the leadership of Valencian
Region in LIFE-Environment projects.

- NATURAL EFFECT REGIONS - In 2004 the Valencian
Region created the Natural Effect Regions
Network, regions that will become part of the
Competitiveness Objective on 2007, with a view to
facilitating a smooth transition into the
Objective Competitiveness. - LISBON REGIONS NETWORK The network has
undertaken different - activities related to the Lisbons aims in
order to increase the influence of the regional
and local level in the implementation of the

on RDi policies. The Government is
strengthening the policies on research and
innovation with the aim of contributing to the

create the right environment (financial,
legislative and training) for entrepreneurs. - The Foundation Comunidad Valenciana Región
Europea works as a platform to promote technology
transfer. One of the most consolidate tool is our
weekly publication that reach all the Valencian
stakeholders Enterprise and Innovation European
News - This policy is aiming the development of regional
economy. The Valencian Government has created a
large infrastructure to promote RD and
Innovation. The main goal is to export the
technology from our research institutes as well
as to import new technology and best practices on

- The Valencia Urban Act (Act 16/2005, 30 December
2005) was passed by the Regional Valencian
Parliament last year in order to set up an entire
new legal framework about urbanism. - This law is also related to the local legislation
about Land Planning, designated building land Law
and the Legislation about Housing. - The major purpose is to promote the sustainable
urbanism in the region according to the model
related to the Mediterranean cities and to
guarantee the respect of land owners rights.
