  • TDL is a wholly owned subsidiary
  • Nabb, Indiana which is 35 miles from Louisville,
    Kentucky
  • Operations include a state-of-the-art processing
    design housed in a 25,000 square foot building
    located on 14 acres

  • Once the transformers have been delivered they
    are placed on rollers.
  • TDL staff tracks all transformers by serial
    numbers.

  • Oil samples are pulled using pipettes and sent
    off for testing.

  • On-site sampling is a service offered by TDL.
  • This service can be performed in warehouse, at
    store room locations, or out in the field.
  • TDL handles and recycles transformer oil and can
    pick up oil at remote locations.

  • All transformers are stored on rollers within a
    6 bermed area.
  • The floor has epoxy coating throughout the plant.

  • Once test results are received each transformer
    is labeled with a color coding system according
    to PCB levels.

  • Transformer oil with a PCB level below 49 ppm is
    then pumped into the appropriate holding tank.

  • Two 10,000 gallon storage tanks and one 5,000
    gallon tank store the oil.

  • The storage tanks are stored in a bermed area and
    covered to ensure a proper storage environment.

  • Drained transformers are then processed using
    power and hand tools.

  • Using a bridge crane, the core is pulled and
    separated into different categories.

  • Copper and aluminum windings are then sheared
    from the steel cores.
