Leading evangelism
4
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to
the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
When they saw him, they worshipped him but some
doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given
to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptising them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.

Gods strategy in Acts
developing strategy means assessment or
analysis of current position, setting goals for
the future, devising a plan, determining the
methods by which it might be achieved before
implementing the decisions evaluating the
results.

we should have the modesty to recognise that
the Breath of God has always played a far more

A modality is a structured, complex diverse
fellowship which is stable and makes few demands.
A sodality is a structured fellowship in which
membership involves a 2nd decision beyond
modality membership. It is deeply relational and
task orientated
16
Modality and sodality
  • both are church
  • missional energy tends to be in the sodality
  • danger of assuming only modalities need to be
    established
  • which structure is most effective for evangelism?
  • if the church is doing its job we dont need
    sodalities
  • sodality a good place to start

if you want to identify me, ask me not where
I live, or what I like to eat, or how I comb my
hair, but ask me what I think I am living for ,in
detail, and ask me what I think is keeping me
from living fully the thing I want to live for.
Between the two answers you can determine the
identity of any person. The better answer they
have, the more of a person they are..
Thomas Merton
