What Quieting is Not

• 1. Quieting is NOT about emptying your mind.
• (Psalms 12) His delight is in the law of the
  LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.

• 1. Quieting is NOT about emptying your mind.
• (Joshua 18) Do not let this Book of the Law
  depart from your mouth meditate on it day and
  night, so that you may be careful to do
  everything written in it

• 2. Quieting is NOT about meaningless repetition
  of a word or phrase that is, chanting.
• (Matthew 67) And when you pray, do not keep on
  babbling vain repetitions like pagans, for they
  think they will be heard because of their many
  words.

• (Mark 135) Very early in the morning, while it
  was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and
  went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.

• (Psalms 52-3) Listen to my cry for help, my
  King and my God, for to you I pray. In the
  morning, O LORD, You hear my voice in the
  morning I lay my requests before You and wait in
  expectation.

  there is no water. I have seen You in the
  sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory
