• Monitoring the performance of operators.
• Analyse the data provided by operators compare
  with the QOS benchmarks .
• Taking actions to bring the QOS parameter to the
  standards set up by TRCSL.
• Conduct ad-hoc research assignments relating to
  the telecom sector.

• In Sri Lanka both Dialup and xDSL are used.
• There are 30 IPS s.
• 3 ADSL service providers.
• SLT, Suntel, Lankabell.

Availability of ADSL

• SLT optical fiber backbone network cover the
  following area.
• Colombo, Gampaha, Negambo, Chillaw, kurunegala,
  Kandy, Nawalapitiya,Hatton, Ratnapura, Horanaand
  Kaluthara.

Development of Broadband.

• 1997 ILL was Rs. 20000/ ( 350US).
• Customer base. 300-400.
• 2005 customer base 10,000 with ADSL.
• Everyday customer base is increasing. So everyday
  more BW is adding.

ADSL tariff.( unlimited volume-24hrs.)

• For the Dyanamic IP
• 512kbps Rs.2250/ ( US 22.50)
• 2.048 Mbps Rs 6750/ (US 67.50)
• When static IP is adding tariff will be more.

• Additional GB additional charge.
• TRCSL is discussing with SLT.
