• They are blocks that have a number value that
  help students out with adding, subtraction,
  multiplication, and division.
• Each size block has a different value so that way
  students can understand the process behind
  addition or whatever the problem asks for

A Closer Look

• This is a one block or unit block. Its the
  smallest of all blocks
• This is a 10-block, which represents 10 units
• This is a 100-block, which represents 100 units

• use four of 1-blocks and put it with two
  10-blocks and four 1-blocks and you can see the
  result is 28

• use four of the 1-blocks and multiply that
  with two of the 10-blocks. The result as you can
  see is 80
