Title: Facts and figures
1Facts and figures
- As you can see Mr. Normalsky needs to register
and to obtain only a fiscal number Tax
Identification Number (NIP 3 Form) in the revenue
department and there is no need to register in
social security department by Mr. Normalsky. - Moreover, an employer is obliged to deduct, the
tax payable on an employees salary on a monthly
basis. - Next, after the whole year Mr. Normalsky has to
fill a tax statement (called PIT form) and reckon
up to 30th of April. After a year everybody works
on his or her tax statements, which is not a big
pleasure. - But earlier, until 28th of February an employer
will give Mr. Normalsky to tax declaration PIT
11/8b for last year, then Mr. Normalsky can
calculate his tax. - If Mr. Normalsky has no more earnings or profits
in the whole year, his employer can get the
statement ready for him and calculate his tax,
but Mr. Normalsky has to say this his employer up
to 10th of January.

5Labour market unemployment rate
- At the moment the unemployment rate is the lowest
since 2000 12 (end of August 2007), that means
1.8 mln people. It is still a lot.
6Work market surpluses shortages
- In the area of surpluses and shortages in our
labour market the situation is complicated. Let
me explain it on the example of bricklayers. We
have 100 vacancies and 300 unemployed bricklayers
who work in black market because of high costs of
employment. The same refers to cooks, carpenters,
shop assistants, drivers. There are also people
with paper qualifications but no skills, as they
havent worked for a long time. - Shortages in Poland are more or less like in GB
and Ireland, but our problem is bigger because
our workers went there. Sometimes we have more
vacancies a year than the unemployed.

10How to find a job
- Finding a job in Poland now is quite easy,
depending on your qualifications. All you have to
do is get a newspaper a call employers offering
jobs in the adds. Next your CV and go to a job
interview. The chance of getting the job is
8020, sometimes even better, e.g. in big
shopping center it is enough to walk around and
get more than 100 job offers. - The real problem is not unemployment, but
underpayment, so people look for jobs abroad.
Unfortunately they do not know foreign languages. - You can also use PES to find a job but its offer
is less attractive because no employer looks for
a good specialist in a labour office now. The
good ones have too much work. - EURES jobs offers are not only for unemployed
every person can use its.
