Summary
  • The Civil Construction for the Linac Proton
Driver is similar to most of the civil
    construction at Fermilab.
  • The Main Injector built in 1992-97 was similar
    and larger.
  • The enclosures, connections, and service
buildings are typical when compared to previous
    work.
  • Cost estimating take-offs are typical for similar
    projects at this stage.
  • The Main Injector was built without cost
    overruns.
  • The Service Buildings and Outfitting of
NuMI/MINOS were also within budgetary estimates.
  • With appropriate contingency, more for scope than
constructability, the estimates for cost and
schedule are reasonable. We expect no surprises
    during the environmental assessment development.
